Linguswamy directed Paiyya which was to feature Karthi and Nayanthara in the lead has started to have its share of problems. First it was the hero’s turn who was stuck with the shooting of never ending Selvaraghavan’s “Aayirathil Oruvan” where he sports a beard and was asked not to shave it as it would affect the continuity of the film.
Nayanthara who was signed for a whooping Rs.1.25 crores had given priority dates for this film which never went on floors due to non-availability of the hero. It is been said that nayan had waited for three months for Paiyya and then decided to call it quits.
The possible replacement for Nayanthara is rumoured to be Trisha.
